Default Question about battery/cables

Really dumb question, but which terminal does this wire hook to:

i think it goes to the grounding bolt on the passenger side strut tower, but i would wait for another confirmation before hooking it up.

Thanks. Yeah I'm a little worried about plugging it in without knowing for sure. I don't know exactly what it goes to.

Here's a better pic of it:

Here's a really dumb question, but didn't you remove the wire?

It doesn't look like a stock wire. It's a power wire for something aftermarket would be my guess and it either connects to the fuse box main power wire or to the positive post on the battery.

Yeah I took it out but it was about a month ago. It did connect to the battery but I just couldn't remember which post.

I bought the car used and it came with a viper alarm system (I don't know if that's standard or not). I'm wondering if that's what it goes to.

If that is a fuse holder taped to it, I would expect it to be a Positive wire. Others agree?

Yes, that is a fuse holder. What size / amperage is the fuse?
Those are 'normally' on the positive wire
in a vehicle that uses a negative ground/chassis
arraignment like the S197 and all vehicles today.
Someone added a big subwoofer amp and that powers it.
That is very massive wire and the MAXI FUSE indicates
a big power draw, not the power draw of a VIPER
security system.

My bet is that the power amp and subwoofer was removed
by merely cutting this wire off at the amp and the tail of it
is hiding somewhere in the trunk. It probably goes thru the
rubber grommet on the passengers side firewall and down
under the pass side door sill over the rear tire and to the trunk.
Or the down and dirty route of UNDER the vehicle with zip ties.
You need to either leave it disconnected or find the other end
that is probably floating loose somewhere in the trunk behind
the trim panel(s).

Thanks guys. I was thinking it went on the positive but wasn't 100% sure. I'll see what size fuses are in it and try to find out where the wire leads to.

Note to self: take pictures before taking stuff apart.

The box has a 30A fuse in it. I couldn't find where the wire went to (nothing cut that I could find) so I just hooked it up to pos terminal. Everything seems to be working fine, no explosions heh

Thanks all

I'd want to find where that wire goes. It shouldn't be hard to track down, because it's not a stock wire.

The car doesn't have an intercooled supercharger does it? Looks like a power wire for an intercooler pump or amp like DB said.
