Default Looking to buy a 05 GT this weekend. Am I getting a good deal?

So I found a 05 mustang gt that I have been looking for. I think its a good deal. He is asking ten and I told him and will come look at it for 8500 and go from there. If I can get the car for 8500-9000 does that seem like a fair deal.

The car has 68K. Bullitt wheels and an exhaust. He says it rides rough (he said probably due to the 10.5 inch wheels on the back) and it needs a wheel bearing or something like that up front. Also said the clutch is slipping and needs replaced soon. Other than that in good condition. with a clean title.

So after I take it to a garage and if all it needs is the wheel bearing and a clutch in a few thousand miles am I getting a good deal on this?

Hell I would go cheaper maybe 7000 if you have to put in a new clutch plus wheel bearings. I would also have it taken into a Ford dealer and looked over before making the decision to buy it. There may be more wrong with it.

Good looking car but if the clutch is slipping and ride is rough its probably been pounded on, so your ride issues may also be suspension related. Id get it thoroughly checked out before buying. Ask him why he's selling...

Yeah I am planning on taking it to a good garage and having them check over the whole car.

And yes I asked him his reasons for selling, he says because it rides rough and he doesnt have a different car for his DD and he doesnt want to keep driving this daily.

I wouldn't go over 7500. That guy use to cruise around the Montgomery County area of Maryland. Seen the car, looks nice but yes it was pounded on.

I lived in that area for many years.

Front suspension noise is probably the ball joints. Replacing lower front control arms with GT500 ones takes care of that clunk.
