My plan. Looking for advice
#11
Wanted to give an update. After a month or so of searching I bought an '05 GT deluxe convertible. Triple black, 56K miles. Had to get it PA inspected and it needed tie rod ends but other than that it's in pretty good shape. Needs the passenger door leather fixed and a few spots I may try to have PDR'ed and a few stone chips in the hood but it's an eight year old used car so I expect that stuff plus I enjoy fixing things.
Biggest thing right now though that I want to do....is drive it!!! Man what a blast!! I love it.
Here is the only pic I have so far. I plan on giving it a good detailing this weekend, wash, clay bar and waxing. After that I may take a few more shots. I did get some Wolffstein's convertible top cleaner and protectant that I put on it and it made the top nicer shade of black. I intend on putting a second coat on too.

Back in 2011 I had the same thought as you but could seem to find anything for a reasonable price so in Feb 2012 I purchased a new GT convertible premium only about a week into owner ship when I notified the dealer of some paint defects in the hood they informed me it had been in an accident! Due to their failure to disclose that during negotiations they did allow a return with no hassles. It took me a few months to get that nasty taste out of my mouth but then in November I bought a 2013. Equally as nice only one model year newer. I still wish I could have found something I could have paid cash for vs. financing... Again, please tell me you paid more then $10K haha!
For mods, I have the automatic transmission so I changed the stock 3.15 gears out for Ford Racing 3.73s and did a tune... Total, all in, (labor, new bearings, programmer...) It was just over $1,100.

Wow, that is one sweet ride, Congrats! But I must admit I'm a little jealous! Please tell me you didn't pay just $10K for that?

I felt I did ok on it. Fourteen five is what I gave. For 56k miles triple black with leather. Dealers have similar one listed at 16k and more. I was hoping to stay around 13 but I went more to get lower miles.
