Default Kenwood Navigation System

I've had installed a kenwood navigation system and everything is hooked up except for the VSS wire. I have an 05 GT. Kenwood says the wire is on the top part of the tranny on the back end of it. does this mean i have to drop the tranny to hook up this wire? i've been to two audio shops and a best buy and they can not fix this problem. i'm missing about half the navigation options without this wire being hooked up and i'm extremely pissed that kenwood did not tell me about this problem before i purchased it. if anyone has had a kenwood navigation system installed in their car, can you please help me. Thanks.

You need to go under the hood. Take the top plug cover off of the PCM ( silver box that stands up on end next to the fuse box ). The wire you want is on the bottom(ish) left of the top plug. It is blue with a yellow tracer.
