Idea for the center console 12v outlet
(I didn't see a wiring/internals forum specific to the S197 GT, so apologies if this is in the wrong section.)
I picked up a for my '08 GT. By design it matches perfectly fitting in the center console outlet, hopping over to the AUX input, and leaving me with a USB port still available in the outlet. The blue button looks like it matches the interior since I keep my dash & ambient lighting the same dark blue.
However the first night I used it, I left it plugged into the center console and my battery needed to be jumped the next morning Because the center outlet is always on, the Belkin device stayed on all night looking for Bluetooth devices.
I'd like to rewire that center consoler 12v outlet so that it is switched with the car's ignition, BUT also add a switch to that little removable panel in the center console that allows me to override that. There are times when the 'always on' outlet is just useful.
I have a vision of a lighted rocker switch working like this:
I'm thinking I need a relay inline to the current positive wire to the outlet that reads the signal from a vampire tapped wire that leads to the ignition... at least that's my initial thinking.
I don't know where the easiest area for that would be tho. The cupholder lighting turns on/off with the car so perhaps that?
I'm not overly proficient with relays and wiring so any help (or anyone who has already done this chiming in) would be awesome!

- If the switch is on, the outlet will be powered regardless of the ignition
- If the switch is off, it will follow whatever the state of the ignition is

the wiring harness likely has switched and always on right at it, at least there is near the one in the center console armrest, you could just put a SPDT switch somewhere and simply switch between the 2 for the hot side, the ground is simply ground, you can tie that to any steel in the car and there is also a ground wire anyway. This is the piece I know about, under the center console armrest.

I would attack this at the source.
The FUSE for that power jack.

Pull the fuse.
One side of the fuse connection is hot.
The other side goes to the 12V jack.
Insert a TAP-A FUSE into the slot BACKWARDS.
Do not install the fuse for the 12V jack.
Install the fuse for the tapped load.
A SPDT switch will suffice to send voltage
to the jack like normal but when flipped cause
it to be sourced by another TAP-A-FUSE in
a ignition switched source slot.
Pretty simple.
