Adding venting (heat extractors) to the 2011 factory hood
I love the look of the hood/front fascia of the '11 and '12 GT. I think it looks MUCH better than the 2013+ GT look. My favorite part about the hood on my car is the hood bulge, and I was kind of sad to see that they took it away for the '13 GT.
On the other hand, I would love to have the increased down force and aerodynamics the vented hoods on the GT500's and the '13 GT's have.
Then I saw this:
This is not a stock hood pictured, but could this be done to my factory hood without compromising its structure? I would want to put the hood vent from the GT500 in this location. If not, what about the type of vents found on the '13 GT? Both types of vents increase down force over the front of the car.
There are lots of aftermarket hoods out there with vents, but none I've seen that have the look of the OEM hood, which I want to keep. This one is the closest I have seen, but It still is not quite that "OEM" look.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks guys!
