Thanks. Just purchased the midpipe to go with the axle backs. Just need another week or two for the funds for the LTs then debating on cats or not. Got out to the Skyline earlier than I thought. Took some quick shots with my cell, they didn't turn out too hot unfortunately but you can see some of the progress.

Got some splash guards installed too, they're pretty stealthy and hopefully help protect the paint. I'm not much into cosmetic mods, it's all go for me.

I say make the car sound how it should and gain lots of useable horsepower. Put a dr on it and run 11's all day. Most of the 600+hp gts I've seen running 10's also have the 3.31's... Unless you have an auto..I wouldn't be thinking about gears at all. It's just my opinion but I do have some data to back my claim since my stock 5.0 went 12.42. Cheers
I don't know about the 2011+ 6 speeds, but the OP has a 2010. Even with 4.10s, he shouldn't need to shift into 5th until >120 mph. I wouldn't want 4.10s with a 600+ HP car, either... With a N/A 4.6, I wouldn't give 4.10s up for anything.

Ranzo, looking good! I like the idea of the splash guards. Like you said, stealthy, but probably will help a lot with tar, stone chips, etc. The rim and tire combo looks great.

It's because when you have 400+ hp you can run 12's with 3.31s. Gears make a difference and it's well documented all over this place. Nice times though, wish my car was that fast.

To me, gears seem like they would only matter in first gear because above that, you can just downshift. also it seems like gears would just make 1st gear useless from spinning...

so i dont really get why people like gears, more shifting, more spinning...

It may be fun being able to spin so easy. but to me, it just doesnt seem beneficial.
