Big Changes To My Car This Week!
#23
A couple of other things I did. I knew that the car wouldn't be running for a few days, so while it was still pretty warm, I broke all of my spark plugs loose. I've read so many horror stories about changing plugs, so I wanted to have the best chance of no issues. They all came out easy.
I used a Sawzall to cut the ears off of the alternator. Made pretty quick work of it.
I used some masking tape to cover all the open holes just to keep dirt, bolts, nuts, etc out of there.
There are a lot of clamps to work around. I'm using channel locks on most of them, but if you have a set of specialty clamp pliers, that would be better.

Nice, good work so far. Hopefully while you are in there with everything apart you give it a nice cleaning under the hood lol. Can't wait until your impressions of first time driving with the new blower.

Yeah, it was pretty filthy. Took the air hose to everything before I started.

I would bust your ***** about the conditions under there but I know you live on a dirt road.
Install seems to be going well so far. I know you're going to have the perma-grin for a long time after you're done.
