Default MRT Catted H - Heat Shield Rattle

So it's rattled quite a bit and I had it re-welded together using a wire fed welder.

They seem to have come loose again.

Here is a good pic of the pipe: http://ep.yimg.com/ay/yhst-398919633...ith-cats-9.gif

The rattling is on the tabs where they sandwich together.

Thoughts on removing them and if its a good or bad idea, e.g. excessive heat?

I'm not sure what "heat shields" you are talking about. I don't see anything in the picture you linked that I thought was a heat shield.

Is it something on the H pipe itself? If so, why not call MRT and ask them about it?
