X/H pipe question

X/H pipe question
Quick question guys. I have an SLP Loudmouth exhaust and I want it to be a bit louder. Now originally I planned on getting headers but after reading some of the horror stories of installation I started thinking can I just get a decent X or H pipe and get a pretty good exhaust note out of it? Also if so what's better H pipes or X? Would love that deep muscle car sound. Any body with the SLP Loudmouth axel backs recommend any? I have a 2010 GT btw
Thanks in advance for the help guys.

anyways to answer your question, H pipes give you a deeper muscular growl while X pipes give you a higher pitched scream...sort of like a NASCAR car. ive noticed x pipes are just a tad bit louder than h pipes but maybe its just me. either way, they should sound good with slps. run cats, because without them it will sound like ****.

if you could do it, i would do longtubes if i were you. the sound is great and gains are pretty good too.

Headers take a long time but it's not hard. Just allow yourself lots of time to do it. I did mine last winter while the car wasn't being driven.
Also, with loudmouths any aftermarket midpipe is going to make your car really loud, whether it's H or X and catted or not. Just a forewarning. Loudmouths are designed to sound good with the factory cats. I didn't like the sound of my car with an X pipe on it, FWIW.

I had MAC Boomtubes which are very very similar to Loudmouths. Best sounding AB for our cars when they're stock. Went to an off road mid pipe and added longtubes and didn't sound as good and was way too loud.
