Charge motion plates
#12
The engineers from the factory put them there for a reason, maybe for lower torque and to help warm the engine in very cold weather. without a new tune for it I wouldn't mess with it in my car. However it's not, and if it works and you feel a upper rpm hp increase let me know and I'll regret spending the money. Haha. I'm curious how it goes

I did the DIY delete plates a couple of years ago - basically followed the steps outlined above. Several others mods were done at the same time along with an updated Bama tune so I can't say how much of the increase was due to the delete plates.
I pulled the plates for a look a couple of months ago and they looked perfect, no erosion at all. IIRC, I used an aluminum version of cold steel epoxy. After pushing it though the holes and letting it cure I used a die grinder to smooth and blend the runners. I opted to not weld the holes as I didn't want to risk warpage.
Its an easy mod although it does take some time as the epoxy needs to fully cure before grinding. Its a good chance to clean the gunk out of the intake and install a new catch can and tackle factory plugs.
