Steering shaft help (need pics/info), new 5.0

Hi everyone,

Just picked up a new 5.0 this weekend (LOVE IT! Will post a new thread about that w/ pics later) and noticed there is a dead-zone of sorts in the steering. There is about an inch of play in the wheel. At first I figured the previous owners probably had headers on, took it off when they traded it in and probably put the steering shaft bolt(s) in backwards which so many forum posts say will cause that.

I'm at work now so I can't get pics, but, if someone could snap a pic of their steering shaft connection point that would be appreciated. I'll get pics tonight so you guys with more experience in wrenching can give an opinion if you'd like. A bolt is definitely backing out, however, before just simply running it back in I'd like to know that the orientation is correct.

Should I put some Loctite 243 on there to make sure it stays or is that a recipe for never getting that bolt out when the time comes for me to put headers on? Usually I like Loctiting stuff down but when it comes to working on cars I know some stuff should have it, others shouldn't, just don't know which.

Thanks everyone!

Just a bit of an update. Cranked down that one bolt that was super loose, unfortunately the dead zone still continues. Will post a pic tomorrow and hopefully someone can see what in the world the problem could be.
