Default electric w/p

anyone have a meziere w/p? if so how did you hook up the wiring. i bought the relay kit also. i would like to be able to keep it running while the engine is off. can anyone tell me what is a good loction to access a "key on"ignition off" 12V source? also have march crank pulley, windage tray and 3.73 gears to put in this week. has anyone had the oil pan off yet? do i have to loosen the mounts and raise the engine?

i put the water pump in about 2 months ago. this is a for real 17rwhp bolt on. i ran the 12v wire into the fuse box inside the car. it comes on and goes off no problems. very easy mod. dont know too much about the windage tray. but i will be interested in your driveshafts when you start to sell them. keep me posted, jt

So the stock V8 doesn't come with a factory installed windage tray? Or are you replacing the stock part with an aftermarket part?

yeah it does but i had to pull the oil pan to find that out! what a freakin waste of time. i just spent 6 hours putting gears in and pulling the oil pan. the factory windage tray is good. i'm sending the one i bought back to RPM. the oil pan even has some baffles to keep the sump submerged. ford really did a good job on this one.

Putting the e-H2o pump is NOT easy. The bottom bolt is a supreme PITA to get any torque on the allen wrench set with handle. The wiring is not terrible, but you MUST know exactly where everything is going in advance as you need to get the wiring into your fuse box and wiretap a 15 amp fuse.

Tehrab had a good install thread, so you may want to look on there. I actually had to call him to get myself straightened out.

FWIW.

Best of luck with the install.

did you use the ball end allen wrench. i used them and had no difficulty installing it. the biggest pain was the crank pulley. i thought the water pump was the easiest mod that i had done until i put the x-pipe on.

i do have an auto but how did you hook to the fuse? i had the fuse box out this a.m. and inside is all pcb's. can't figure how to get a good connection. i'd hate to just stick the wire into the fuse slot. also how did you run the wire out to the relay? the grommet and harness is hidden behind the inner fender. did you take that out and run the wire. i'm trying to make this as neat as possible with reliable connections. my wife drives it once in a while and i definitly can't trust her to turn on the pump every time she gets in it.

if you look inside the car on the pass side there is a fuse panel. you should have some empty slots for fuses. check in the owners manual for amp rating. i didnt use the relay kit. i didnt want to cut or splice wires. i trimmed a spade connector to fit where the fuse goes. no switches. the pump came with an inline fuse and i grounded it in the engine compartment. when i turn on the ign, the pump comes on. i hope this helps you, jt
