Default Underpowered or not :/

Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this I just got my 06 gt dyno'd after my winter mods which include:

ford racing hot rod cams
bbk long tube headers
ford racing intake manifold
gt500 62mm throttle body
and coast 1 pc alum drive shaft

I took it to a local speed shop to have it tuned and dyno'd and it put down a lame 315hp 301tq

I was hoping for a lot more than this. Im just wondering if my expectation were to much or if this pretty average power for this setup

Dyno blah.....go to the track and give me your mph! Different dyno, different day, humidity, air temps, all play in the numbers. Dont weigh dyno numbers too high. How does the car feel? I bet it feels great.

You don't race on a dyno.. Dynos are for tuneing purposes only, and for some people their ego's. Don't be bummed out about dyno numbers, (however you may get a little more with a better/correct tune loaded) which is the only reason they should go on one.. A good example is this, gears and driveshaft make your car faster, however a higher gear will hurt dyno numbers tremendously. I've seen much as 30hp from a 3:55 to 4:10! Sounds crazy yes... but the 4:10's are quicker no doubt. Your car is fast and fun, so enjoy it!! No need to worry about numbers when altitude, temperature and all different dynos tell you something different in the first place. I purposely haven't had mine on one cause no matter what the number is... It isn't ever enough!!! They are tools designed for tuneing only.

I know what you guys mean. The car puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it, but i was hoping for more power gains from all these mods. I just wasnt sure it was a bad tune or what was going on..

from what I've read the cams, intake, throttlebody without head work are only good for about 30 HP. the headers may also pick you up a few more. Wouldnt worry about dyno results, it should be used as a tuning aid or tool. And you dont say If they tuned it or just downloaded a tune. your supposed to have 300 hp stock so do agree would of expected 325+ but alot depends on weather and dyno operator. Take it to the track see how it runs. Or as long as it feels good dont frett it.

it's a naturally aspirated engine, with the mods you did you aren't going to pick up that much power. as it is, you're getting more hp at the wheels than the stock engine is rated for at the flywheel, so you got something. Sad thing is even the 3V heads don't flow all that well so unless you go with forced induction you're not going to see any huge gains.

Did you have a baseline dyno before the mods?

As 99GTvert said, you need a baseline to compare to. If this is a Mustang Dyno, those numbers are probably pretty good. Depending on the conditions when dynoed, those numbers may be good. Or perhaps they are bad numbers. Unless you have something to compare to it's hard to tell. I'd probably expect another 10-20 HP with your setup, but that could easily be gained or lost on your specific dyno run due to type, conditions, etc.
