warranty?

RE: warranty?
ok kaldar, i had a very similar question, and this is what everyone, here and offline told me. the dealer has to PROVE that whatever mod you did caused the failure for anything to void your warranty. so you have to do something like lower you car and have the oil pan crack over a hard bump, or put an S/C on and throw a rod or something like that. hope that helps man.

RE: warranty?
A dealer can decline to cover the work under warranty if they can prove that the modification caused the failure. This does not void your entire warranty but just the failure that was caused by the modification. That said, allot of it comes down to your dealer. Some are more lenient than others. A good working relationship with a dealer is always a plus.

RE: warranty?
No. If the dealer has seen the modification, they can claim it caused the problem even if you remove it. If you add/modify something that causes a problem with the car, removing it most likely will not fix the problem--the damage is done.
If you remove the modification before the visit, you have a better chance of 'slipping one by'.
Bottom line: anything you do to modify the car before the warranty term is up can potentially cause parts of the warranty to be invalidated. That being said, some people wait for the warranty to expire before any more in-depth mod's (cam, supercharger, nitrous). IF you modify beforehand, you run the risk. Every person needs to make their own decision: do i mod now and run the risk of something happening, or do i wait.
Good luck
