Default offroad x-pipe noise

if you have the rattling noise after installing the offroad x-pipe, i found out where it is coming from today. the heat shields under the car. i shoved towls between them and the car and the buzzing noise stopped. i even drove the car around the block and it was much better. i guess the vibrate easily. does anyone have anymore input? has anyone taken them off? thanks, jt

ops, i guess i should have removed them. just kidding. i used towels to dampen the heat sheilds. i think i am going to remove them and replace them with dynomat. i think they have some with the silver heat coating on it.

Its great to hear some solutions to this problem. Every since I installed the JBA shorties and Bassani x-pipe I have been plagued by the rattling sound. I checked all the clearances and everything looked great. No problems with anything rubbing, but at certain rpm I always got this rattling from under the car. I knew it was the exhaust, just didnt know what it could be rattling agaisnt . Gonna give the towel trick a try and see if this solves anything. If so then i'll go from there, if not then back to the drawing board.

try the two rear heat shields. the front ones seem pretty solid. just dont ride around for very long with towles next to your exhaust. it wouldnt be good if they caught fire.
