Congrats on your new rocket ship!

Main reason that kept me from considering a supercharger in the future is I heard they wear out your engine.

That sounds like an old wives tale if I ever heard one before. A supercharger isn't going to change your daily driveability. You produce boost when you go WOT. So unless you are going WOT everywhere, there is really no effect on the motor.
