I agree but it still could force Ford to stop their bullschit and prep their aluminum panels in a professional manner from then on.
When the new F150 comes out we will see... cause if they screw the pouch on this one, they're in for a big loss.

My hood appears to be flawless, nevermind a few road debris dents/dings. I truly feel for everyone that has this known issue happening. I really support Ford for many reasons. But things like this feel like a slap in the face from them.

I really hope, for their sake, they have the painting aluminum
Issue ironed out on those new F-150's!!!

I had the first "fix" done by my dealer who I bought the car from. They farmed it out to a local body shop. The didn 't re paint the whole hood, just re finished where the blemishes are.
When I came to get the car at the dealer, took one look and said "you gotta be kidding me!" They did such a crappy job. I left withou the car and told them to do it again.
Second time around it was not great, but I said whatever, and took the car home.

Now its been out of warranty awhile now ( '06, 103k miles), and the hood is worse than ever.

I joined a facebook group about this issue on all Ford/Lincoln/ Merc products, but its been quiet and nothing seems to come out of it.

I might change the car to another color in a couple of years so I'll address it then.

( also fwiw, i have the door "pleather" panels peeling off, and my driver's side seat bolster stitching coming apart!)

Absolutely no sign of any corrosion on our 2008 GT's hood.

I know, you don't "know" us or our cars, but just wanted to say it ain't all of them.
