disconnect battery for k&n?

what do you lose if you disconnect the battery? I'm not gonna do it. I tried to delete this stupid thread but they whoever they is, have no delete option. sorry to bother you but whoever they is left me no choice.

You will lose the presets on your radio, as well as the adaptive learning the ECU has in its memory.
The fixes are to reset the radio and just drive it. It will relearn as you go.

I just lost the battery on my Subaru, presets etc, were gone. However, after I did it, I recalled that you could put something on the car to preserve the juice while the battery was out, done by shops? I use a battery tender on my Yamaha FJR, I wonder if I could have used that?
