Default Getting used to my 2014 GT automatic... I found out

that the SPORT position really has TWO different MODES. If you are stopped and in drive position, move the selector to SPORT but DO NOT push the (+/-) button on the side of the shifter. Driving off, you will notice that the trans will shift through all gears. If using full throttle, the trans will shift firmer AND the normal shift RPM will increase by about 300 RPM.
Start over and from a full stop, shift from drive to SPORT mode again. At this point, press the (-) button on the side of the shifter. This will engage 1st gear and KEEP it there forever or until you press the (+) button to upshift. This mode will keep any gear you select and not allow an upshift until you press the (+) button.
I looked in the owners manual but did not find an explanation of this DUAL mode while in SPORT.
Wondering if this is the same deal with 2011-2013.

Just don't put it in sport mode and let it shift by itself while on the highway because it won't shift into overdrive.

The 11-12 cars don't have select shift and thus have no manual mode. 13 and 14 cars do.

NBD using sport on the highway, it won't shift into sixth by itself but you can manually select it with the + button.
