Default To anybody that had done motor mounts

Am I the only one who had to resort to grinding off the stud flush with the arm in order to get the old mount off? What a pitfa!! Finally got them done but nearly 2 hours each side. Just not enough lift in the engine to clear the stud and get it off.

Mine were so far gone that the only thing holding the engine on was gravity. They actually split in two while taking them out. Needless to say there was no fluid left in them.

Note: To anyone thinking about prothanes or other hard polyurethane mounts, YOU WILL FEEL the engine vibration A LOT. In my case I don't care as the car is moving towards a road racer a little bit more every day but I can see how some people (i.e. normal people) might find it extremely annoying. If you're sensitive to NVH do yourself a favor and go with the stock mounts.

My change was out of necessity for clearance for the KB 2.8 supercharger install. Do you know who makes the KB mounts?

I kept my stock mounts when I did my headers.

I did have some difficulty getting the mounts back in with the headers installed, otherwise I never had any issues with removal or installation.
