Even on the same wheels and tires, the '06 has slower/sloppier responses. And the '11 has a more neutral feel, where as the '06 has a tendency to understeer around an autocross course.

You could drive the '06 at 8/10 and just about get away with it, whereas the '11 will end up in a ditch even if you drive it at only 7/10. The chassis cannot cope with the extra power and it needs serious suspension/tire upgrades to tame it.

A little bit of self control, and not using the the throttle as a switch solves that. On long sweepers the '11 doesn't understeer or oversteer, and on quick direction changes, like in autocross, it is less sloppy.

Couldn't all the things you've mentioned be simply due to the fact that the original '06 suspension components will have had 5 years more wear and tear than the '11's? I'm sure the '06 would handle much better if you just refreshed the worn items.

That may have something to do with it, but the '11 has 25,000 more miles than the '06 so it more or less negates, and they changed the dampers and spring rates in the 2011 from the factory.

Depends on the type of miles. Mostly highway miles = less wear.
