Default x-pipe or stock h-pipe?

I hear that the x-pipe is quieter. A lot of nascar cars if all carry the H-pipe. So really is it a plus to go with the x-pipe? I have my doubts really. comments please.

my dad has a shop and they do alot of custom exhast work. the h pipe sounds better to me but if it's done right the x-pipe can be about5-10rwhp more than the h pipe.

From what I have seen at performance shops and from people that I have talked to, the stock H-pipe is very free flowing. The gains yeilded off on road x-pipes are no more than 1 or 2 hp and trq. IMO h pipes sound better but x-pipes will usually yeild more power. The off road ones pick the '05 Gts up pretty good though. I have heard around 10 hp and tq to the wheels.
