RE: fabricated CAI from stock air box???
yeah i wouldn't have bought it except i got it for $219 on ebay. CDC wanted $350 for just the scoop. look on ebay once in while ive seen rk sport sell them cheap a few times. they also have a different style reminds me of '69 shelby scoop it's also functional. not sure if it picked up any power since i changed so many things last weekend but i really like the way it looks. oh yeah it's about the same weight as the stock hood so you won't save any lbs.

Hey man im all about the stock look. and when BBk never released their cai(no its still not available) I kinda sota needed a few ponies to take on this SRT 4 runnin around here.
i drilled 8 holes in the bottom of the air box filled it up with ice popped in some mesh to try and keep the water out of the filter.. worked pretty good even without the ice.

yeah i have a friend that is a painter. he did it for $60. i never would have bought it at the regular price i think it's $700+150 for shipping. by the time it's painted that hood is gonna cost $1000!! i have $429 total in it including the $150 for shipping to my door. someone will make a reasonable priced ram air intake similar to what kenne bell and moroso did for the 5.0's.
