Parking brake malfunction
Hey guys,
Long story short, my parking brake isnt holding up the way it should. Even when I yank real hard on the lever the response is mediocre at best. I have tried tightening up the tension on the cables, and even replacing them - twice! Im thinking one of the caliper "springs" (not to sure what to call them), are maybe bent out of whack or something? I can see theres some slack in one of the cables at the caliper side.. Is there a way to replace those "springs," or should I replace one/both calipers?
TIA

Take a look at your calipers before doing anything. Since you live in snow country I bet your rear brakes have a ton of corrosion on them. That corrosion can prevent the adjusters and springs from working correctly. You could also have a stuck caliper piston. Are both sides of your rear brakes wearing evenly and are the about the same to each other? If not, the side that has less wear or uneven wear is the side that is sticking.
