2005 Mustang GT. The shifter for the auto trans will not move pass drive. It operates normally otherwise but will not physically move pass drive. It feels like it hits something soft because it has a little "give" when it comes to a stop. Any ideas?

Do you mean you can put it into gear but the red arrow continues to point to "D"?

I can move the shifter from park all the way down to drive. Indicator moves and trans works fine. If I try to move it to "3", It will not physically go there. Feels like it is hitting something. Ive pulled the console cover but the shifter is a sealed unit. Nothing to see underneath the trans either.

Gotcha, you can put in "D", but can't pull it back into 1-2-3. It shifts through the gears when in D however, correct? The shifter isn't mechanical so you may need to chase the wiring and cable. Do you have an aftermarket tune on the car?

Yes. Tune by Lito plus a ton of mods. E-Force SC, Kooks LT, cam.

Not in the last month. That’s when I did the Lito tune. Shifter worked then because I had to do pulls in 3rd gear for the data log.
