Numbers from the Track

Numbers from the Track
OK, so I went to the track on Sunday..., it was hot and the track was slippery.. My mods are a C&L intake with the Brenspeed 93 tune... 500 miles on the odometer... This was the first time I have ever run the 06, so here are the numbers:
1st pass - 14.2 @ 102 mph - horrible, bad launch, and I completely spun second, also forgot to turn off the tcs
2nd pass - 14.0 @ 102 - bad launch, spun second again...
3rd pass - 13.86 @ 103 - let me friend run this one, he is a better driver..
4th pass - 13.76 @ 104- my friend again
5th pass - 14.0 @ 102 - me again
Not that impressed with the numbers, but they do tell me that the car is definately capable of low 13s. Once she is broken in she will get faster. Also, there was a headwind and the track was slippery. I was coming out of the hole at idle, because I was afraid of wheelspin.
I have the videos, but nowhere to post them. If anyone knows of a place to post them, I'd be happy to share....

RE: Numbers from the Track
reaction times wont effect your quarter mile et or speed you could sit on the line for 20 seconds after that light goes green and still run a 13.50 you will lose the race by 20 seconds though. when racing you want a better reaction time then your opponent because for every thousandth quicker you leave the line is one thousandth of margin you have towards your dail in. example
easy to understand scenario:
driver one:
dial in : 13.50
reaction time : .050
1/4 time: 14.00
driver two:
dial in: 13.50
reaction time: .550
1/4 time: 14.00
driver one wins by: .500
even though they dialed heads up and both ran identical times, one had a half second better reaction time so he get to the line a half second ahead. which means driver one could have ran a 14.49 this pass and still won by .01
here is a real world scenerio
Driver One:
dial in : 13.54
reaction time : .040
60 ft : 1.99
1/4 time: 13.65
Driver Two
dial in : 13.37
Reaction time : .188
60 ft : 1.92
1/4 time : 13.49
Driver one first by : .012
even though driver one runs slower he got enough of an advantage with his reaction time he still wins the race
