Default Exhaust Dillema please help!!

Here is my dilema, I have been searching on the forum for the past 12 hours and I have not been able to figure out what exhaust setup to do and . Here is what I am looking for in the exhaust.

A smooth deep tone that is quiet while cruising and does NOT DRONE(more of a smooth exotic tone rather then classic 60 muscle car). I am also planning to add Long tube headers and the Saleen supercharger.

Is the stainlessworks full system good. The 1 with the headers xipie with cats and turbo mufflers. IT is a 3 inch system. Thank you your help is greatly appreciated.

I got the deep tone from my Magnaflows, and if you're into the exotic sound, then the x-pipe is the one for you. I prefer the H, but everyone is different. It sounds like you you have the right idea, but just need help picking out a catback. Do you know what brand of headers and x-pipe that you want to use? Most say that midpipes are close in sound...an X is an X, and a H is a H. Each one has it's own slight characteristics though, and in combination with the headers and catback, everything can change. Post which brands of x-pipe and headers you are looking at, and people will probably chime in more on what they like. If it's one thing that I've learned though, everyone likes something different.

I started adding sound clips to our website last week. Check out out. You will find X pipe sounds and also clips with a new off road H pipe we will have in a few weeks. I will keep adding clips with various mufflers. For sure though I can tell you the H is lower than the X with a chambered style muffler. The 05 is a tricky beast with the mufflers in the back. It is hard to get the perfect sound once you change the mid pipe.

i agree you will want the x-pipe. it will give you what you are looking for. as far as a 3" system i would expect a bit more drone and it will be louder than a 2.5" system. also the larger the tips are to an extent the more drone there can be. my dad and i do a lot of custom exhaust and i usually discourage 3" or larger unless it's a steet strip with lots of hp with power adders or the customer is deaf.

Showing my ignorance again, but what exactly does "CAT back" mean?

I was looking around at headers and exhaust systems and I kept seeing that, but I couldn't tell by looking at the pictures what that meant...

Cat back means the exhaust goes from the catalytic converters back. It usually is the piping that connects to the h-pipe back.

he said he plans on getting a saleen blower...so 3" is a good idea for best performance
