Default POST YOUR 1/8 MI. TIMES....PLEASE

I finally got to take my GT to the track yesterday and was VERY disappointed. Not in my car, but rather the condition of the track. Its only three weeks old and is still very "green". Its like racing on a garage floor! And to top it off, the Oklahoma wind had the track covered in dirt! Three or four PRO cars ran and it looked like they were running on oil.

They decided to let the street cars run and it was terrible! Though I cut good lights (.520's-.550's) my 60 ft times were 2.50+. The car looked like a fish out of water. I tried to get a good bite, but every time I mashed the gas it would get sideways. Even third gear would burn the tires! I even sprayed it with 100hp of Zex and it ran an amazing 9.70 @ 82mph! (1/8th mile). Of coarse these times were on the OE tires, but even the cars with BFG's and M/T's were having trouble. My best time was with the stock tune. It ran 9.34 @ 81mph. I was disgusted, but the other GT's and LS1 cars couldn't keep up with me! LOL!

Anyway, for those of you who've run your cars, post your 330 ft or 1/8th mile ets and mph's so I can tell where I stand next weekend at a different track.

don't have time slip in front of me but look on forums timeslip section for mine. today i ran 8.30's in the 1/8 @ 82mph my 60' times are 1.84,330'=5.35, 1000'=10.88, 1/4=13.08@103 best.
drop your rear tire pressure to 23-25 psi. if you have the pirelli's all you need to do is a light burnout just a little heat and clean them off. my car hooks great with them at 23psi. sounds like you are dirt track racing. where is the track you go to? my buddy is stationed at tinker AFB i may go visit in the spring want to race while i'm there.

I ran mine with the nos and the best I could pull was an 8.3. My freind I was racing went 7.9 in his mach 1 with a 125hp shot. mine was only 100. I think I can get close to the 7's with the 100hp shot and some 373's in the rear. The stock gear ratio is way too high in the autos.

This track is just outside of Lawton, Oklahoma. If you're going to Tinker, you'll be close to Thunder Vally raceway in Noble, Oklahoma (awsome 1/4mile track)! The track I raced on is Sooner Motorplex. Check out these pices from Saturday. http://hotrodshack.com/sp1.htm They had a car run a 4.20 the week before with a 1.06 60' so I guess it was due to the dirt blowing on the track.

The LS1 cars had the same problem I had.....no traction.

Hey man, your track photo is awesome!! Get one at launch with the front end bouncing (NOS should be able to lift it pretty high)

I'll try some sticky tires and see what happens. The week before I ran, this mustang did a pretty good wheelstand, so maybe without the dirt on the track, I'll get some good launches and ets.http://hotrodshack.com/IMG_1736%20(Medium).JPG

Limestang05,

Im assuming by the picture you took that you were at Faxon. I heard the track down in Walters is off and on, but you could always go to Springer down around the Ardmore area. By the way, I get my GT friday........whoooohooooooo

The track in Faxon is shut down and the one in Walters is also shut down(court ordered). This is a Brand New track(three weeks old) It is at the Faxon exit. It runs parallel with I-44.
