The SCT was the definitive choice prior to the 05 mustang. In early models the biggest advantage to SCT was the ability to handle multiple tunes and presets. The new diablo's for the new stang do just that. The multiple tune ability was the ONLY advantage SCT had over Predator and now that advantage has been taken away. There are also a lot of advantages to the diablo now that you can only find with a laptop on a roadtest versus some guy with a dyno and some presets. I have achieved incredible results to my GT with Diablo and I SWEAR BY THEM now. I will take an SCT tuned car any day of the week.

The SCT X-CAL is far superior for Mustangs with the automatic trans. I had to return my Diablosport Predator because it couldn't adjust shift firmness. I just installed the C & L Cold Air Kit and Brenspeed X-CAL tune. All I can say is wow!!!! The car shifts so well that the rear end kicks out to the side and the tires spin on the 1-2 shift. It chirps hard from 2-3 as well. I love this package! It's better than I expected and I had high expectations. I'll be racing Sunday @ Englishtown. I let you know what the package is worth in the 1/4 mile. Best time before the C & L and with a Predator & dyno tune was 13.7.

I use the SCT Xcal II

Pros
You can tune the Automatic Shift schedule and line pressure
Data Logging is cool,
Has software to change the tune yourself.
Flexability in adjusting tunes.

Cons:
still bug in SCT tuner software
no option to change cooling fan temp and speed


Overall If you have a Manual Trans, you are better off with the Predator
if you have a Automatic Trans you are better off with the SCT.
if you are not getting a professional custom tune and you will like adjusting the settings
yourself, get the SCT ( pro tuners can make dyno tune for the SCT)
My local mustang pro shop perfers the SCT over the Predator.

you shouldn't have a problem running 13.30's or faster with your mods.

If you have seen any of my postings in other 'tune related' questions, I have always complimented what you just said. Obviously I am a Diablo supporter because it works good for ME. Hands down SCT for auto trans because of the obvious shift adjustments you can't make with diablo. Also hands down SCT for anyone who wants to adjust the tunes themselves and not utilize a professional. I'm not bashing on SCT - everything ANYONE does to their stang needs to be weighed and considered by what they personally need and want and have available to them. Just do your research and find what works best for YOU. No single product is the best for everyone. Just remember the golden rule -

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE HAS GOTTEN OUT OF THEIR MUSTANG...IT ONLY MATTERS WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF YOUR MUSTANG.

whats wrong with your predator for the auto?.....what shift adjustments are not able to be made?.....does that mean that the diablo will work crappy on an auto?

Xcal2, simply because of the better customer support and better vendor support and better tuners , ie Brent at Brenspeed and Doug at Bamachips.
