Default Side mirrors advice - Color match?

I can't stand the fact that my side mirrors are not the same color of the car. Anyone have an idea what to do? Painting them wouldn't look right cause the texture is different.

Thoughts?

I had mine painted. Unless you are really looking for it, you would never notice the texture thing, but it is there.

if the body shop that does it builds up some primer, and then sands it smooth, you wont have the texture... but it will cost you about the same as just buying the smooth mirrors... unpainted... i would just take them off yourself, and take them to a good reputible(prolly misspelled) body shop, and ask them if they can prime them and sand it smooth to get rid of the texture... make sure you dont TELL them anything... they hate that... (my family owns a body shop and i have worked there for 10 years)

I think the mirrors are way too big to paint. They come black and it helps keep the attention off them. If you paint them, they stick out like dumbo ears...

Even though my 06 GT is black I can't stand the grainy, "hey look at my plastic" mirrors. No problem getting rid of the grain so I will be painting mine black CC to match. Yes the mirrors seem a bit too big so actually I will first remove one mirror; check out it's mounting and mounting profile; Yeah never know... taking that profile into the late model junk yard may reveal an alternative mirror that could be readily be adapted. ...remember anything is possible with creativity, time and money. If I find an alternative I'll post my discovery.

(Some great looking mirrors out there that with some minor mods may fit and bolt precisely to the Mustang. I've done tougher fab mods...) ...Jim
