Can I handle a 30 shot and is it worth it?

Can I handle a 30 shot and is it worth it?
I made this post in the 'juice & boost' section but I thought this might be an accurate spot too...
I have an 05 GT. I'm currently at 468 RWHP with a vortech h/o s/c. I run average 10psi and max 12psi. I've got tons of mods for suspension, fuel delivery, etc...etc... The point is I don't have a rebuild (forged internals, cams, crank, block, etc..etc..) I'm basically running on the factory motor + bolt-on's. I know I am already pushing the motor (as my tuner loves to remind me 5 times a day) But I have set my rev limiter down to 6500 rpms and I'm shifting between 6000-6200.
It feels like the car is nowehere near going sour in that RPM range. I am currently building a new motor specifically for drag that will handle more horsepower but thats a couple months away and I'm not looking to blow a perfectly good motor either. I'm plumbing the car for a 150 shot to go along with the rebuild. It will be a functional kit now (installed on Monday) but my tuner instructs me not to squeeze anything at all until the rebuild. First and foremost, I know most of you will say I'm crazy if I don't listen to my tuner BUT....
1st - my tuner has built this car with me from scratch and I think he is more in love with the car than I am so he is being VERY cautious and conservative.
2nd - I only want to run a 30 shot.
If I keep the rpm the same low range as it is now (6200-6500) How and why would a 30 shot offer me damage. Also, is a 30 shot even worth anything for what performance I'll get?
He's putting on a neat purge kit - I guess if nothing else I'll be able to put on a show until the rebuild. I'm totally new to nitrous so any input on this will be greatly appreciated.
PS: I also just got the colder autolite plugs - thanks sparkplugs.com

RE: Can I handle a 30 shot and is it worth it?
I would run a 30 shot and get an MSD window switch to control the spray through out a specific RPM range. Typically from what I see, Supercharged guys like to run that 30 shot early( maybe 2500 - 4000 rpms) just to give you some extra power while you are getting up into boost.
