Default Larger Tires... Stock Rims....

Just wondering if anyone has put larger tires on the stock rims. I saw a picture of a car about 5 months ago with larger, wider tires on the stock rims in the back and the car looked meannnn. Cant seem to find the picture. Was wondering if anyone has seen a car with it or has it themselves. I heard we can fit up to 275's on our stock rims. If you have used the Mickey Thompson ET steets... you will know the look i am talking about.....

though its not recommened, several people have put 275's on stock 8-inch rims. I plan on doing so myself as soon as I get the tires.

yeah. that's what i was going to say.

275s really don't fit on 8" wide rims but you can squeeze them on there. It's not too bad with a softer sidewall tire like a drag radial but performance radials CAN pop off the bead. 255s are about as wide as I would recommend going with a "performance" style radial.

Try Tirerack.com

If my memory serves me correctly...

Maximum size for 18" stock rims:

255 on front
285 on rear

How wide are the stock 18" rims?!? I could easily be mistaken but I was nder the impression they were still only 8" wide just like the 17"s.

The measurements you put up are for 9" wide rims. You can't get a 285 on an 8" wide rim.
