General questions on mods
I am very new to the mod scene and getting addicted already and do not even have a stang. I'm very mechanically inclined, do all of my maintenance and repairs myself and would like to get into mods. I'm thinking of a GT VERT in the near future and would like to do the mods and tunes myself. I know this subject has been brought up many times, but i'm kinda wondering what mods i should limit myself to because of warranty issues. I'm curious how complicated it would be to do underdrive pulleys, or maybe an intake.

Well something like an axel back exhaust is really easy to install and they are relativly cheap. Example SLP Loudmouth, or borla makes a good one. You can also do wheels and suspension, and there are many computer tunes that are available.

I wouldn't suggest doing the tunes yourself. It depends on your experience, I suppose, but being mechanically adept and knowing how to program your air/fuel ratio for each mod without blowing your engine are two completely different things.
Stuff like exhaust, pulleys, cold air intakes, throttle bodies, etc can easily be done yourself unless you have absolutely no knowledge about cars. If you have a garage and a lift, etc you can even do your own headers, motor mounts, and some of the more advanced stuff.
The computer and tuning I would leave to professionals, but almost anything else can be done yourself, depending on how severe you plan to get.

RE: General questions on mods
Oh, and about warranties. Depending on your Ford dealer, almost anything you do to your car could void the warranty. Some dealers are just complete d!cks about mods. Technically, however, they cannot refuse to enforce the warranty unless they can PROVE that whatever mods you put on the car directly caused the problem.
So you might want to talk to your dealer first and see what they say. Of course things like underdrive pulleys, exhausts, cold air intakes, throttle bodies, etc can all be switched back to stock if you have a serious problem, and as long as you kept the stock parts, of course.
