Default M3 Beater

Just got my '06, 5 speed...no mods yet... except for heated seats. I want to build an all around M3 beater, 1/4 mile, road race, 70-120 accelleration. Suggestions other than buying an M3?

the quarter mile is easy... intake and programmer and maybe some other small bolt ons
the road race thing will be exspensive... i would go with tein 1400 dollar suspension package and stop techs $2000 front brake kit along with some 18x9, 18x10 lightwieght rims wrapped in low pro sticky tires... all that and maybe you keep up but youll probably need to get sway bars, and a strut tower braces as well...

You don't think that with the right driver a GT could beat a M3 stock to stock in the 1/4 mile? I mean its 0-60 is 4.8 secs and a 13.3 1/4 mile. Or maybe I'm wishful thinking? Thoughts?

What do you guys think of Ford Racing's handling kit?

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8976

Also I've read in other posts minor engine mods can take an M3 in the 1/4 but not 70-120. How would a Saleen S/C do?

PS: Heated seats are available all over. I had a local interior shop install them for me. I have two other cars with factory heated seats but these are warmer. Only limitation is you can't install the seat portion if you have the passenger side child's air bag sensor in the seat cushion, but the back still works. You can buy them for about $200-$300.

saleen sc is nice, and with any sc you will destroy and m3 in a straight line. in the new muscle mustangs and fast fords mag they tested a 05-6 GT with a vortech v2 sq bolt on kit. the car was otherwise STOCK...and it made 511whp 440ft lb on a dynojet. they ran out of fuel at that mark. i wouldn't go that high on a stock motor, but they felt it was safe. i haven't seen a blower (roots or twin screw) make that kind of power on a stock 05gt. point is...you can make more power for a lot less money with a vortech or other centrifical sc, you'll just have to wait a whole 2 sec longer for boost. the saleen looks very clean though

i'v heard good things about the saleen s/c... but i'v also heard there are much better ones out there, with a bit more difficulty installing- but the saleen is extremely reliable
