Shaker 500 and 1000 MP3 Abilities
I read in the Brochure (? SP) that the Shaker 1000 system I ordered has the ability to play MP3's allowing you to have a TON more music then a normal audio CD, when you play a MP3 file in the Shaker system does it display the Name of the file/track? Also can you divide the files on the CD in folders and then go into different folders via. the Shaker headunit, thanks in advance!

Yeah, both the Shaker 500 and 1000 play mp3 cds. You can put seperate folders on the disk for each cd and browse them on the player. Bear in mind, you can only go one level deep with the folders though. Yes, it also reads the id3 tags on the mp3's so you can view the artist, album, song name, and so forth.
With 6 mp3 disks, you rarely have to change music.

As a new GT owner - I had a similar question about the MP3 functions. I burned a CD with 6 folders and no sub-folders, but it only seems to recognize 3 of the 6. I can index using the folder buttons on the radio but it still only seems to recognize the 3. Is there a special way to burn the CD's to make use of the full CD?

find the files you want to burn (not in iTunes but the folder on your hard drive that contains them), find the ones you want copy and paste them to your cd burn drive and burn it! the files should be in mp3 form when it burns. an easy way to find all your music, is to clock the start button then goto seacrh (the 2nd option from the bottom on the right), after you click on search selsct the top item pics music and vodeo, after that put a check in the music box, then to narrow the search click the "advance search options" on the bottom of the coloumn, then click what size is it and check off "Large - greater then 1MB" , after that click more advanced option on the bottom again and check the second one s"search hidden files and folders" then click search in about 2-4 mins all you music will pop up allowing you to copy and paste to you burn drive to make a cd!
