Default Synthetic Oils--Royal Purple

I am surprised not to see more topics about oil on this forum. Maybe they have already been discussed though and I am on the tail end of the discussion.

I have used Royal Purple in the past on other vehicles and was very pleased with it. I believe there was a show on hot rod tv, or something like that where they changed out the oil, rear axle fluid, and transmission fluid w/ Royal Purple products. The dyno yielded a horsepower gain...of around 10 HP. Gas Mileage also increased.

That's the website above.

I think that's pretty impressive. 100 bucks or so for the fluids, plus or minus a few, and you get 10 hp? Not bad!

I don't know personally of any other oil that claims a HP gain, but I am certain there probably is.

Lots of oils claim gain
Royal Purple proves it on the dyno over and over.

I run all RP. It's a little secret amoung the local speed freaks.

Yeah, i saw that HP TV thing where they gained 7 hp after changing the fluids. But they don't tell you what they were taking out and how old the original fluids were. I bet if they put in Mobil 1 oil and any new gear and tranny fluid thay would have seen similar gains. It's not a secret that just replacing old, worn fluids with new ones will increase power

Yeah. Amsoil, Mobil1, and RP are reputable companies for synthetic performance oils. Motorcraft also makes a full synthetic. This is the Ford recommended oil.
