Default I'm in love with a Loudmouth.

So I finally got my 'Mouths on this afternoon.

They. Are. The. Sex.

I love the exhaust tone. At low throttle amounts it's a deep (ear-shattering) rumble. Get into it and it screams like a bat outta hell.

My Uncle said the sound reminded him of a 72 351 w/Glass Pack mufflers.

(I've gained 4MPG simply due to the fact that, just off idle, it makes tons of noise. I no longer have to give it significant throttle to hear that Muscle Car roar.)

Thanks SLP! Job well done!!!

Mileage GAINS???!! How Mine went down when I first installed them because I like to cruise around at like 2800 RPM and hear the Exhaust scream. The other day it was like 20 degrees out I had both windows open and the radio off so i could hear it better. I love when I drive through the parking garage at work you can hear me at the entrance when I'm on the 7th floor.

Regarding the LM's, I've heard the tone/volume inside the car isn't changed that much over stock (with the windows up). Is that true? I can't see that being the case, considering how aggressive the LM's are.

They are not that loud in the car, you can only hear it if you are getting on it with the windows up. Ford did a good job noise proofing these cars. If you have the windows down it is 100 times louder than with the windows up.

Congrats on getting the lms, I love mine!

GGIII, I plan on buying SLP's in the near future, did you have to jack the car up for the install?

Same here. 4MPG gain? Are you kidding? Thats like a 20% increase just because you put on resonators? I just don't see how its possible.... unless its sarcasm?

And mike, yes you need to jack the back up.

Hahaaa...another satisfied user! I've been preaching about LM's for almost a year now....I even gave up on my o/r H pipe's just to keep my LM's.

Madmike...if I may jump in...no jack needed to install the LM's, it takes about 30-45 total.

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping I wouldn't have to go out and buy a floor jack just to change the mufflers, I don't trust the jack that came with the car.

Well I already had a jack so I used it......... I didn't think you could do it without one. But apparently you can.

Heres a simple test to find out mike. Crawl under the back of your car face up and see if you have enough mobility to move around and unbolt/unclamp all the necessary components.

I (CAREFULLY) backed the car up onto a set of home-made ramps. 3 2x4" wood blocks nailed ontop of each other in a step pattern. 6" lift was -more- than enough.
