Default Back from track again, new times *now with video*

Well last time i went bone stock auto i managed at 14.08. With the JLT2 & Xcal 2 with brenspeed tune, the best i could do is 13.6 I think i need lower control arms, the wheel hop is terrible. Will the steed lca help stop that? i met a guy at moroso who blew his motor and is parting out the car he told me 125. As for the cars wi went up against i beat them all. Not to say my car is faster i guess the driver sucked.
WRX Sti with full exhaust - beat him, closest race, of course he got the jump but i pulled on him
WS6 Trans am - he had to suck as a driver, he had no cats, long tubes and a camshaft i think. i was expecting to get demolished
infiniti g35 - too easy
lol a dodge ram- easier than the g35 lol

it was a good night, i was hoping to hit 13.6 and i got it. Next are some gears, and long tube headers and steeda lca, should put me in low 13's. I love the look on peoples face when i tell them its an auto. the wrx sti guy was pissed, he doesnt believe my mods. i wanted to race a kid with a 350z that claimed he runs 13.5 with just an intake, but he wouldnt. The people i went with were telling me he never did better than a 14.1 i just hate when people lie like that.

Here is the video me vs sti, this was the fun one.

sounds like a fun night! i love moroso it's such a nice track. good times also. did you drop the air pressure in the rear tires. that helped mine tons. i have no wheel hop or spinning when i run 23-25psi. i have run 13.08 on stock tires and stock suspension with no hopping or traction issues. you may be able to get in the 13.5's if you can stop the wheel hop.

Great Job. Those are impressive kills. Especially against the Subaru. As a former STi owner, it's good see that a GT with an automatic can beat the Subaru.

I need to find the article and post it but I read tat a 05-06 GT with a C&L Intake with the sct 2 tune, underdrive pully's, electric water pump, and MAC axel backs can do a 12.7 at the track, I know it sounds fast which is why i need to find that article it was from a reputaple (sp ?) publisher and I'll post it when i find it.

yeah i believe that if it was a manual trans car. MM&FF had an issue with a red 05 that ran 12.45 with sctxcal1, pulleys, axle backs,qa1 rear shocks and et streets. that sounded really fast but after seeing some of you guys #'s i am a believer. for an auto it takes a little more stuff to get to 12's but when you do you will be able to do it consistantly.

i'm a bracket racer and there is no comparison regarding consistancy between an auto and a manual. that's the only reason. i love stick shift cars. i also hate to break stuff. which i've done enough of with my dragster and roadster so i went with reliable, consistant, fun power. no doubt i would be running close to 11's with a stick but it will make some eyes open if i can get close with an auto.
i plan on running 3-4 NMRA races and 2-3 FFW races this year. i'll be running the modular motor class which is just a bracket class only they use a .500 pro tree and your dial in is set from your qualifying runs.
if i had a stick car i believe the first thing i would have done is to scrap the tremec and get a jerico or liberty clutchless style trans and a really good clutch. i started adding up how much a stick car would have costed to build the way i wanted and it was just too much.
i'm still having fun with the auto and hell it's got the same # of gears.

I ran consistent 13.4, 13.5 with my auto, I ran 40 psi front tires and 25 psi rear tires I got no wheel hop at all. 1/4 tank of fuel and no spare.

cfr
what do you have done to your auto? i see you have an xcal2. 13.40's is quick for an auto w/o gears and stuff. how did you do it? i run about the same air pressure frt and rear. also had no problem with traction even with the new converter.those pirellis are the best all season tire i've ever had on anything. they are incredibly sticky when a little hot. quickest for me with just a tune was 13.70 @ 102.98.
