My first attempt to purchase a GT convertible was in February of this year. I found one close to what I wanted and negotiated a decent price. The dealer I chose was close to my work even though the car was at one of their sister dealerships they were able to transfer it in for me. On the first day I noted what looked like water stains from baking in the South Texas sun. The stains were on the drip edge or very front lip of the hood. After a few days I brought it back in for them to buff it out. I waited because they were also installing a backup camera. When they tried to buff out what first appeared to be stains they found the stains were actually dimples in the clear coat. Further investigation found a little over spray and some bolts that had been loosened (paint cracked) on the fenders under the hood. They inquired with the stealership that transferred the car to them and found that it had been in a minor fender bender in the parking lot. I really didn't have a problem with this but they wouldn't renegotiate the price after a deal was "consummated" so instead they took the car back. This was acceptable to me but after the dust settled I had second thoughts about doing business with that dealership. (Red McCombs West here in San Antonio). After the paperwork was rescinded the sales guy chatted with me a little and told me how they were just going to re-spray the hood and fender but when they realized it was too costly for them they opted to send the car back to the original stealership. I think this demonstrates their knee jerk reaction was to cover up the issue as they never once asked me what I would like to do.
