Default Pypes X Pipe & FLowmasters

Holy Loud..... Just installed the Pypes X pipe ( no cats) and had flowmasters installed previously and wow, the combination is beyond loud. Does anyone have a set of axle back mufflers that flow well but maybe are not as loud. Like a 2 or three chamber muffler.... I have heard many cars with xpipes and high performance mufflers and it was never even close to how loud this set up is. I mean loud/ nasty is one thing... but breaking neighbors windows is another. ANy one with a suggestion on a axle back that may be a bit more toned down?

Thanks guys

Put your stock mufflers back on if you want to quiet them down. With the o/r xpipes they should still sound great.

I agree with Ratzila, We have warnings all over the Pypes web site about running a V technology Chambered muffler and an off-road X pipe on an 05 and 06. It just doesn't sound loud...... it sounds like a truck in some instances. With the mufflers at the back of the car, everything has changed as far as sound when it comes to these cars. If you want something louder than the stock mufflers but quieter than your current combo, I would run something like the Pypes Race Pro, Pypes Street Pro, Magnaflow or DynoMax Ultraflow.

Have you put aftermarket headers on your car or still stock. I am planing a pypes xpipe with flowmasters. If it is as loud as you say I may need to rethink my plan, or go ahead with it a be the loudest car in town. Is the sound an abrasive tone or is it still a mean and nasty sound thats is just way loud?

Hey guys.. thanks for your replies... I have stock headers, the pypes X ( which i was very impressed with the quality of ) and flowmasters. The sound is loud, nasty and udderly... the loudest car in the town lol. I mean if ur goin for a race car... do the combo but if ur not.. stay away from this setup. I am gonna try the pypes street mufflers next and see how those sound. I mean the combo went to gether flawlessly, however i was just unexpectant to the 440 Hemi open headers sound that wakes the neighborhood...as a race car thats nice, however as a daily spring and summer driver, i think i might haveta pass...
