Can't beat the 05 GTO, which you can get for right under 30K right now. I'm guessing you mean brand new for that price... Otherwise we could start ringing off a bunch of other cars. Can't think of anything brand new and not modified other than the GTO right now.

I was referring to new pricing.
Other wise, I could invest about $12k into an early 90's fox body and run 10-11 sec 1/4 mile all day.

Just to keep it fair, I was pricing out the new car market, and the price comparison's were off of Edmunds.com

I just saw the specs for that Jeep with the Hemi and that'd be a good run. I still think it'll be more expensive than a base model GT

I believe they want 47k for the SRT8 Jeep.

2005 GTO is pretty quick But if your a good driver you can take it in a drag. But on top end.......... the GTO's got you. I raced my friend on the interstate a couple of days ago and we did a run at 70mph and floored it and it was even for about a second and then he pulled about 3 cars on me. We both topped out our speed. He said he topped out @ 157mph I think mine was around 150mph Which I say not bad considering the GTO claims 100 more ponies at the crank. I'll have to run him again to see how real drag will come up with. We've only messed around with the drags a couple of times but not a real one.

I have also driven a Charger. For me, the Charger seems to be a totally different animal. Four doors, very quiet and doesnt pull quite as hard as the mustang. (magazines claim 0-60 for a Charger R/T is 6 seconds.)

When sitting in the car, I feel as if Im sitting in my fathers caddy, there is no sense of being behind the wheel of a muscle car.

I find the Charger inviting to look at, but boring to drive.[:-]

I read that a lot of fans of the orginial Charger were dissapointed with the current design and, to correct that debacle, Dodge came out with the Challenger concept car to provide damage control.
HAH!! Imagine the Mustang redesigned and coming out as a 4-door. A 4-door? Are you kidding me? What a joke!!! Good work Dodge!!

I have a 350Z and I know my Stang can beat it.
The hard part is trying to drive both cars off the line at the same time.
I need to clone myself.[8D]

Base price is $39995. $47k is the most expensive way you can get a SRT-8 Jeep.

I not sure of the Dodge Charger. I doubt that we will beat the SRT-8 (425hp), but that's way out of the price range anyway. I don't know about the regular Hemi's though.
Any comments?
the new dodge charger srt-8 runs a 0-60 at 5.2 seconds and the quarter in the mid 14's. the problem with the car is the 4200lb payload.

OK, someone hasn't done any research on the Charger SRT8.

I have seen timeslips and video of those timeslips where this monster has pulled 12.8 - no mods. Repeat: NO MODS. The 6.1 is under-rated by around 25 ponies... minimum. This is no BS. That car MOVES... and its HUGE. I'm a 2006 GT owner, and this almost scares me.
