The Chargers are dreadful heavy. The extra 45-50 ponies the Hemi has on the GT are needed just to tug around the extra weight. As for the SRT8....I didn't think they were out yet, but 425HP isn't anything to sneeze at. If you're in a stock GT and are looking into modding it....I suggest refraining from racing any SRT8s and LS2 equipped GTOs till you're up on your power output a bit. The GTOs are like 300lbs heavier than the GTs, so a good portion of their extra displacement is needed for the extra weight also. I think a GT modded to about 350Hp (325rwhp) could whip up on a GTO all day. The Hemi Charger......I've already taken two of them with my stock GT. The SRT8......I'd say a bump up to 390 or 400Hp before you try...unless you don't mind losing.

Well, you can add the 01/02 Z28 to that list. My girlfriend took my GT to the store and just got back a couple of minutes ago. She said a guy in an 01 or 02 Z28 passed her up then kept going slower and slower in front to make her try to pass. Finally she did and he tried to gun it........she said she dropped it into third at about 45mph (yes, she can drive a stick, read below) and humped down on the gas. The Z hung for a couple of seconds and then she said he began to lag behind. After about a half mile she said she had him by about 3 cars, and then he slowed and turned off on a side street. Dunno what impressed me more..........the stock GT beating the Z28 (never ran against one yet) or that my girlfriend is the one that pulled it off. LMAO

P.S. My girlfriend drives a yellow 98 GT convertible with a white top and a 5 speed stick. She used to do a little "amateur" racing back in Kansas City when she was in the Air Force. Not to be chauvinistic, but she's the ONLY female I know that I'd let get behind the wheel of my Black Rocket. [8D]

ls1 f-body kills are rare for a stock or even mildly modded s197. the ls1 w/ just a cat-back is good for another 30 or so rw. the auto's should be a little easier though
