Default To Anyone with HOOKER LT's

I just recieved my new ceramic Hooker super comps, and I'm a little concerned. A couple of things threw me off that I didn't expect and I'm thinking of calling for new ones. I got them from Summit Racing.

1. They have a 3 bolt flange on the collector. I though that these used a 9" long slip fit collector for better sealing, at least that's what's in the pictures from hooker and Summit and everyone else

2. Every source I check says that I should have a 2 1/2" collector, but mine is a 3". I checked it against the h-pipe I ordered and sure enough, 3". I even broke out the measuring tape to be sure.

3. The coating has gouges in it, on every primary tube, looks like from some kind of vise or something. This will eventually lead to the coating flaking off and I will be addressing that issue with summit.

Funny part is, the box that they came in has the correct model # on it. Could I have gotton a miss boxed product?
If you have a set. please let me know of your experiences with these.

you definitely have the wrong headers! i have the hooker coated l/t's and they look just like the picture in the book. slip on 2 1/2" collector and the marks you are talking about i think are from the bender or the jig they use when welding. as long as the marks are all covered with coating i think they will be okay. mine has them too. i think it's actually in the metal not the coating. if they start peeling i'll send them back and post an FYI for everybody.

Thanks man, I juts called summit and talked to one of their people. He said that they will send me out a new pair right away and they will take care of getting the old ones returned, all I need to do is tape up the box.

I've never had anything but great customer service from summit in all the years I've been dealing with them.

yeah they are pretty good. i got mine from jegs cause i had a credit there to use. check your new headers and make sure everything is in the box. mine didn't have the O2 sensor extensions. took 2-3weeks to get them cause they had to make them. they are supposed to come with the headers so if you don't get them don't let summit tell you otherwise. the sales rep at jegs tried to tell me they had to be ordered separately. i pointed him to hookers website and got it straight.
