Sorry to bring this back from the dead - I'm just chiming in too. Mine has done this from day one, seems to be second gear only. Sounds kind of like a blower sound. It's louder under heavy acceleration, but I can barely hear it under normal acceleration too.

No, but when I first was getting used to my new GT one day I heard a whistling sound. You know the high pitched whistle sound that usually is caused by a slightly opened window? I finally figured it out- all the cool looking airconditioning ducts had been closed and at speed the natural flow of air through them caused it! So remember to leave at least one open!

Mine does the same. More noticeable at higher RPMs. Sounds like gear whine though, like when I replaced a timing chain with timing gears on my ole 307 Nova.

mine has done from day one with about half throttle or more pulling off form stop light or so. i love it, i'll have someone who doesn't really know my car or anything, such as just someone uptown where ppl hang out at ask to go for a ride, and i get in it a little bit and they start asking if i have a supercharger or turbocharger, its great. i love my 06 gt, i wouldn't trade it for anything in this world.

Ok guys does this happen ONLY when under WOT and does it happen with the 1st to 2nd gear shift? If so it may be the Serpintine Belt. The F-150 are notrious for doing this and it is in fact the serpintine belt. The only way to stop it is to swap the belt out for a Goodyear Gatorback Belt. I know this sounds crazy but trust me this may in fact be what your hearing.

Probably 50% throttle and above. 2nd gear only, not any others.

My 06 Auto GT makes the sound in 2nd gear only.. from day 1.. If you lock it in 1st...no sound, 2nd sounds like a whistle until you decelerate, then it sounds like whining gears. Third through OD is fine.

My dealer claims they drove other Auto GTs and they make the same sound. They checked with Ford and they had not heard of the problem. Otherwise the car kicks butt. Guess, I'll just see what happens while my 100M warranty is in effect.
