Default Burnt Exhaust Smell

I am sure this is normal because I noticed it on the two GT's I drove. After driving my new GT, when I get out, I smell a light burnt smell, which I think is coming from the exhaust. This is my first new car I have bought, so I am sure this smell is part of the break-in process. Any thoughts?

Don't worry, mine did the exact same. I tried pinpointing the problem but w/ no luck. Anyways after about 500 miles it went away.

Mine did it twice, first with my stock exhaust and then again with my flows. It goes away.

Awesome, I was pretty sure it would go away eventually - we will just have to wait and see.

Just fresh paint burning off the manifolds. Happens to every new car.

You think thats freaky, just wait until you see/smell what happens if you replace the entire mid pipe with an off road or other hi-po type system underneath. The oil that is usually still in/on the pipes from the mandrel bending is still caked on, and takes about 5 minutes to burn off when you first start up the car. You'll think something is on fire under the car with all the smoke

You might be right. I got out and smelt the rear brakes and that seemed to be what it is. Again, I am sure its all part of the "new" car phase.

yeah....nothing to worry about, like someone else said above around 500 miles, you'll stop noticing the smell - that is, it will go away. you're just burning off paint and fluids and new breaks. personally i consider it part of the "new car" smell. enjoy it while it lasts

i think i stopped smelling it at around 7 or 800 miles, so if it continues i wouldn't worry.
