Default Wheel Weights??

Searched couldn't find.

Looking for the weight of the 05/06 Mustang GT stock wheel/tire combo.

Both the 17 and 18 inch wheel/tire combo.

Thanks.

Anyone you know have a decent digital scale. Get on, record your weight. pick up tire/wheel; record weight; subtract your weight; should be accurate to about 1/2 pound. Whatever you may find online may not include balancing weights, center caps, valve stem etc (small measures I know) but the test I gave you (if scale is set ok) will give you pretty good measurement.

If you don't have the tires/rims to do this with well I guess that won't work for ya. Some guys have shipped these; they may be able to tell you from shipping weight.

Yeah, I don't have a Mustang so I can't weigh them.
My digital scale weighs in .2 pound increments.
I've always just placed the wheel/tire right on the thing
for the best measurement.

I'd be surprised if someone on these boards haven't
weighed their stock MGT wheels/tires yet.

Thanks

did you include the weight of the lead wheel weights on your stock rims?
I really can't stand those things!
Almost makes it worth the price of getting replacement wheels and the added expense of new, bigger rubber, since nobody stays with 17"

i have the 17in upgrade wheel and pirelli tires. when i painted my calipers 2 weeks ago i rolled one wheel into the house to weight it. it comes in at 46lbs. i did this because when i upgrade in lookin for a lighter wheel tire setup. so i needed to know the baseline.

Thanks, that's exactly why I'd want to know.

Tirerack lists the 17 inch Pirelli tire as being 28 pounds.
That means the 17 inch MGT wheel is only 18 pounds. That's light and will
be hard to beat going to an 18 inch wheel.

But the good news is, if you go
255/45/18 tires, and get the Continental ContiSport Contact 2 (a pretty all around good tire)
it weighs only 26 pounds...or 2 pounds LIGHTER than the stock 17" Pirelli.

Wow, the more I think about it, are you sure your scale is correct?
18 pounds on the stock MGT 17" wheel is really light for an OEM wheel that isn't forged!

By the way, what's the lug pattern?
