I think you got the differences correct. I read a piece somewhere about the CandL kits that said the race set up doesn't nessacarly produce more power and the strip is what you should use unless you are just concerned with racing, but I don't remember and cant find where I read that again.

I'm not sure which one is going to hold up better against the heat. Of course one would imagine that the aluminum one could better withstand heat, but that isn't always the case. I'm still going to go with the Aluminum though.

anyway the race version has no real benefit other than being plastic, but also makes 2-3 hp less. Its up to your preference.. i would reccomend doug at www.bamachips.com , his tunes are great and he will get you a great price. send him an email
