Default Stock Gearing

Does 2500rpm@80mph sound right for the stock gears?

I vote no...if you have the correct numbers. I'd guess 3:55:1 gears..3.27:1 was stock.

seems about right. I will check for sure when I hit the highway, but I usually run right at 80 and it is right in the 2500rpm range, and yes, 3:55:1 is the factory ratio in my 5 speed.

That sounds about right. Mine turns 2700 at 80 with 3.73s.

On another note the stock gear in the manual is 3.55s, the auto 3.31s.

Without doing the whole equation thing, tire diameter, 5th gear ratio, rear gear ratio and all, I think that 3000 to 3100 rpm is more likely.

4.10 gears/5th gear

2000 rpms=56.25 mph
3000 rpms=84.37 mph
4000 rpms=112.49 mph
5000 rpms=140.61 mph
6000 rpms= 168.74 mph
