Average miles per tank

RE: Average miles per tank
Thanks guys. Its the small tank that scares me. I drive the G35c now and have to fill up every 3 or 4 days depending on how hard I get on it and it has a 18 gallon tank. I just dont want to have to gas up every other day like when I had my Jeep.
And definitely not on the civic. If I have to spend 2-3 hours in the car a day. I at least want to enjoy the ride......

RE: Average miles per tank
At my last fillup, I totalled 321 miles, put in 13.8 gallons, and averaged 23.2 MPG.
In the previous fillup before that, I drove 299 miles (70% highway driving), put in 11.848 gallons, and averaged 25.2 MPG. With that average, I'm guessing I could've driven it another 60 to 70 miles, but I filled it up a little early because, at that time, gas prices were creeping up again. My best so far.

I've never seen above 23 mpg. Highway, city, nothing... The only time I even got 23 was when I was cruising at 70-90mph going form NJ to LA. It just isn't in the cards for me it seems. I recently filled up with 93, because normally I've been running 87. Now I'm getting like 13-15mpg! That's a combination of 25-50mph speeds.

Unless your car is tuned for 93 octane, it will get worse gas mileage...go back to 87 octane....thats what the timing is set for from the factory.

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned that it's kinda irrelevant how many miles you can get from a full tank. This is because the silly Low Fuel Warning chime and message starts appearing just below 1/4 a tank left! I will have about 40-45 miles left in the tank (according to the display) and the warning comes on and I have to clear it! Then it comes on again! And again! And the needle still isn't at empty!
Can that be changed with a tuner? It should be replaced with the old orange warning light

jtl4894 have you raced yourself yet?

Unfortunately, its hard to race myself since I'm constantly driving one car forward, then running back and driving the other car forward. [8D]
It gets tedious, especially when I'm driving on the interstate, everybody's always honking at me so I shout back saying "CAN'T YOU SEE I'M DRIVING TWO CARS?!"[sm=gears.gif]
Now, if I could just find a way to clone myself.

Before my last fillup, the Low Fuel Warning chime was buzzing, but I kept driving until finally I decided to fill it.
At 321 miles, I figured I could've driven another 20+ miles, but I didn't want to chance it and run out of gas.
Fuel!! FUEL!!![sm=smiley19.gif]
